Guwahati News Desk: The Rashtrapati Bhavan today is hosting the Padma Awards ceremony wherein 119 individuals belonging to different areas of expertise will be awarded the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
Notably, former Assam Chief Minister who had a tenure of 15 years, Lt. Tarun Gogoi will be awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously.
Moreover, 8 others from Assam will be awarded the Padma Shri. They are:
1. Lakhimi Baruah
2. Bijoya Chakravarty
3. Gopiram Bargayn
4. Mangal Singh Hazowary
5. Dulal Manki
6. Birubala Rabha
7. Roman Sarmah
8. Imran Shah
Apart from them notable figures such as Shinzo Abe, B.B. Lal, Kangana Ranaut, P.V. Sindhu will be awarded in the ceremony.
