Guwahati News Desk: The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, was hit with an egg by a protester in Lyon, who shouted “Vive la revolution” (long live the revolution).
The incident took place on Monday morning, during the President’s visit to an international food trade fair in the French city of Lyon.
According to sources, although the egg was thrown at the President with force, but rather than exploding on contact, the egg bounced off his shoulder and onto the floor and Macron’s security attempted to shield him.
Meanwhile, footage of the incident was widely shared on social media that showed Macron walking through the crowd, when the egg bounced off him without breaking, and his two bodyguards immediately getting closer to him for providing protection.
In addition, the video also showed a man being taken away from the scene by other bodyguards.
Moreover, the reporters present at the event admitted to hearing Macron say, “If he has something to tell me, then he can come.”
However, no details have been released by authorities on the man’s identity or behind his motive of committing such an act.
