Guwahati News Desk: Delhi’s most wanted gangster Jitendra alias Gogi, was shot inside Rohini court on Friday.
The shootout took place inside Rohini court (number 206) where Jitendra was being presented before the judge.
The incident left several people injured and raised serious questions about the current security in the court, that should be a heavily protected and sanitized zone.
Moreover, the gunmen were dressed as lawyers, who barged into the court during hearing and shot gangster Gogi thrice. The Delhi Police’s Special Cell escorting the gangster fired back, and killed both the attackers on the spot.
The shootout left three people dead and one woman lawyer injured. Around 35-40 rounds were fired during the incident.
Delhi Police Commissioner, Rakesh Asthana, said, “The gangsters have been shot. Two came in lawyer’s uniform. Police have neutralized them in counter move. Three causalities have been reported.”
According to sources, the attack is believed to have been carried out by Tillu Tajpuria gang, who had a rivalry going on with Jitendra Gogi’s gang.
In addition, several videos of the incident went viral on social media in which lawyers were seen scrambling to get out of the building amidst the sound of gunshots in the background.
However, this particular incident marked a huge security lapse on court premises, and has raised questions about whether metal detectors at the court were working and if they were, how the armed men could get past.
