Guwahati News Desk: The COVID Working Group chaired by Dr N K Arora has issued a notification on Thursday that has recommended extension in the gap between first dose and second dose of vaccination.
The recommendation was made for both the vaccines Covishield and Covaxin manufactured by Serum Institute of India and Bharat BioTech.
The vaccination gap was increased to 12 to 16 weeks from 6 to 8 weeks which will be application for all ages.
The recommendation of COVID Working Group was accepted by the National Expert Group on Vaccination
Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC).
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare also accepted the recommendation by COVID Working Group for the extension.
