Guwahati News Desk: The Hathras gangrape case has been handed over by the centre to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday.
A 19-year-old girl was gangraped who hails from Boolgarhi village, Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, later she died at Safdarjung Hospital on September 29.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suspended Hathras SP and IPS officer Vikrant Veer for carelessness over handling the case.
CM Yogi recommended a CBI enquiry after being brutally criticized by the Opposition for mishandling the case and also for cremating the victim’s body without the presence of family.
