Guwahati News Desk: Due to heavy rainfall and wind, a tree fell off and blocked the New Airport Road in Guwahati on Wednesday evening.
The road block created heavy traffic however a rescue team has reached the spot to clear the road.
The tree has damaged few roadside shops too.
While speaking to a residence about the incident he said, “The evening curfew has saved the people as the tree has fallen over few shops. On regular days, people used to come for shopping which may lead to serious injuries”.
The officials urges all the vehicles heading towards the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport (LGBI) to take the Azara-Rani road for quick reaching.
