Guwahati News Desk: Heavy rainfall has been predicted in Assam for the next five days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya; Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh,” the department said.
Heavy rainfall is predicted till July 2 as heavy rainfall to his isolated places across Assam. Similar prediction of rainfall to hit neighbouring State Meghalaya in the next five day. According to the sources, it will also hit isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall is also predicted at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana and northeastern States Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura including Assam and Meghalaya, as per reports from the Ministry of Earth Science.
According to the sources, the heavy rainfall will hit along with thunderstorm with lighting and gusty wind at the speed of 30-40km/hr.
Indian Meteorological Department tweeted, “Strong surface winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph occasionally) over Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh on 30th June and 01st July, 2021”.
Within the next 24 hours, a moderate thunderstorms accompanied by frequent cloud to ground lightning very likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, north Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
This may cause injuries leading to casualties to people and animals staying outdoors, days Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday.
