Guwahati News Desk: The residence of Guwahati City got a bit of relaxation as the curfew timing extended to 5 pm from 2 pm in Kamrup Metro on Monday.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ADSMA) has revised the curfew timing in Kamrup Metro on Saturday which to is imposed from 5 pm.
The regular rush that was seen in the marketplace, the commercial establishment was seen reduced on Monday.
The traffic in many places in the city was also seen the soft due to the relaxation of curfew timing.
The rush was seen reduce in vegetable-fruits markets, vehicle servicing centres, parlours, essential shops etc. All the shops, commercial establishments, offices to be shut down by 4 pm today.
The odd/even rule to continue in Guwahati and restriction of inter-district to remain ban until further notice.
New 1,523 COVID-19 positive cases were reported as active cases reach 25,790 on Sunday.
55,132 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the State and 37 people died. Kamrup Metro alone reported 149 new positive cases with 1 death.
Whereas, Sonitpur reported 137 new cases, Jorhat with 109 cases and Golaghat with 95 cases as the positivity rate of the state reached 2.76 per cent. 3,261 people recovered from COVID-19 as the recovery rate reaches 93.69 per cent.
Meanwhile, a complete lockdown was witnessed in four districts Biswanath, Morigaon, Goalpara and Bokakhat town of Golaghat district as only essential services are operating.
Meanwhile, in Hailakandi district the curfew timing was extended till 5 pm and all the commercial establishments, shops, and offices to operate till 4 pm from today onwards.
In several districts like South Salmara, Charaideo, Dima Hasao, Bongaigaon, Majuli, West Karbi Anglong, and Udalguri curfew timings to remain same, i.e., from 5 pm to 5 am.
In the remaining districts across the State, there will be no changes in the curfew timing as it will start from 1 pm and business establishment, offices, shops to shut down by noon.
Health Minister Keshab Mahanta stated, “If any area report having more than 10 new COVID-19 cases can be added in the list of total lockdown”.
