Guwahati News Desk: A bomb threat call was received by Mumbai Police from an anonymous person at four places in Mumbai on Friday
According to the sources, the bomb threat call beefed up at three railway stations and in the bungalow of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
However, the call later turned out to be a hoax as two persons were arrested regarding the threat call from neighbouring area, Thane in the connection on Saturday.
Mumbai Police said that they have received the call on Friday night as the police officials immediately started search operation in the four locations as mentioned in the threat call.
The call was received at around 9:45 pm on Friday as the caller said that bombs have been placed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Byculla Railway Station, Dadar Railway Station, and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu.
Soon after the call the Railway Protection Force (RPF), along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), dog squads, and local police personnel immediately rushed to the mentioned location to control the situation and carried out a search operation.
The search operation was operated at the platforms, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office, parking lots including nearby areas, and dog squads were released by the officials including Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Quick Response Team’s (QTR).
During the time of search operation, Marine Drive and Azad Maidan were also involved in the operation and after separate hours of search, nothing suspicious was witnessed in the areas.
Mumbai Police tracked the mobile number of the caller and arrested him at the Shil Phata area near Mumbai in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
Mumbai Police immediately detained two people involved in it and the investigation is still going on to find out the depth of the threat call.
