Guwahati News Desk: The iconic Maa Kamakhya Temple reopens after a long period of three months in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The temple was immediately closed down due to the rising cases of COVID-19. In the latest SOP released by the government of Assam on Tuesday allowed the Kamakhya Temple to open as 20 persons were allowed to worshipping for an hour.
Along with Kamakhya Temple, Shiva Doul, Doul Govinda Temple including other temples were permitted to open from today.
The administration will allow worshipping only vaccinated devotees to enter the Kamakhya Temple as a vaccinated certificate of both doses is mandatory to visit.
Maintaining social distance, wearing a mask are made mandatory inside the premises of the temple. Popular Ganesh Mandir of Latashil was opened from today as devotees were seen visiting the temple after a long gap of time as it was closed down due to rising COVID-19 cases in Guwahati. The Ganesh Mandir of Ganeshguri was also reopened today as the temple authorities are allowing 10-15 people to visit inside in an hour.
