Guwahati News Desk: A massive gunfire had to resort by Assam Police at Hailakandi district along the Assam-Mizoram border on late Tuesday night.
According to the sources, a group of suspected people from the Mizoram side was seen approaching the Assam Police while the department is busy setting up a police outpost at the Hailakandi district. Assam Police said due to darkness it was not possible to see clearly and hence leaded the open fire.
During the firing, no causalities were reported on Assam. As per sources, a Mizo youth was injured during the firing and was later admitted to a hospital.
Due to border dispute between both the States a high tense going on in the bordering areas as six Assam Police personnel were dead last month in the firing of Mizoram Police including one civilian during border clash and around 67 civilians were injured.
High security was witnessed in the border area of Assam and Mizoram to control the dispute which later leads to an economic blockade by the people of Assam with a demand to hand over the Mizoram Police who have killed down the Assam Police personnel.
