Guwahati News Desk: Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain from Assam have shines in the Tokyo Olympics after clinching victory at the quarters finals in the 69 kg weight category after defeating Nien-chin of China on Friday.
Lovlina clinched the quarter-final by defeating China by 4-1. Earlier, Lovlina reached the quarter-final by defeating Nadine Appetz of Germany by 3-2 in her first bout in the 69 kg category in Tokyo Olympics.
Lovlina Borgohain made history as she is the first women boxer from Assam who has qualified for the Olympics. After earning a successive victory over China Lovlina reaches the semi-finals. Lovlina qualified for Tokyo Olympics in March 2020 by winning the Asia and Oceania Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament.
