Guwahati News Desk: The Jorhat administration has extended the lockdown for two more days in the district amid rising COVID-19 cases. The lockdown has been extended till July 15 to contain the spread of COVID-19.
During the lockdown, all commercial establishments, shops including vegetable and fruit shops to remain close except pharmacies. The administration will review the entire district on July 15 and will take all necessary steps looking at the COVID-19 situation.
Assam reported new 2,169 COVID-19 positive cases and 23 people died on Tuesday. 1,24,381 COVID test were conducted across the State as positivity rate reaches to 1.74 per cent.
1,456 people were recovered from the virus as recovery rate reaches to 95.07 per cent. Here the district recorded highest COVID-19 cases are Kamrup Metro (258), Golaghat (232), Lakhimpur (138), and Sonitpur (116).
