Guwahati News Desk: A lone wild elephant killed one by entering a house at Rongbong towards Karbi Anglong bordering Golaghat inter district border
on Sunday.
The incident took place at around 3:30 am as the elephant killed one and injured one by entering the house.
According to the sources, the jumbo entered the house of Ramnath Bhagat in village 4 No. at Rongbong and injured 72-year-old him and a 35-year-old labour named Paresh Karmakar residing with him.
After the attack by jumbo Karmakar died on the way he was taking to SKK Civil Hospital in Golaghat while Bhagat has been shifted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
After the incident reported at Rongbong Range Officer of Golaghat and Assistant Conservator of Forest along with police personnel visited on the spot to take a stock on it and also conducted an inquiry into the incident and taking necessary steps.
