Guwahati News Desk: The Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Rural Kailash Karthik has tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
According to the sources, the Deputy Commissioner fell ill after the third phase polling of Assam Assembly Elections as later the virus has been detected.
Currently, Kailash is under home isolation under the doctor’s advice.
In Assam, a total of 352 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday which takes the active case to 1,902.
Guwahati reported the highest COVID-19 cases in recent days.
