Guwahati News Desk: An eviction drive was conducted by Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) at Fancy Bazar on Monday.
Around 70 illegal street shops were evicted in the Old Jail Road area by the administration of GMC as the drive was conducted at 5 am in the morning.
The eviction drive is a part of COVID-19 preventive measure as the second wave of COVID-19 has already hit the nation as more than a hundred new COVID-19 cases were reported in a single day in Guwahati.
