Guwahati News Desk: The District Magistrate of Kanpur, Vishak G. Iyer, visited the Ursala District Hospital in a surprise inspection, only to find glaring mismanagement there.
As per the sources, the DM visited the hospital without providing any prior information to anyone, early on Tuesday.
He reached the hospital alone and filled out the consultation form to see the eye doctor for his eye checkup.
According to sources, Iyer had reached the hospital at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. He stood in the queue to fill out the OPD form, after which he sat outside the ophthalmology department for his eye checkup.
However, to his surprise, he could not meet the doctor despite waiting there for 45 minutes.
Alarmingly, the doctors had not arrived at Ursala Hospital till 8:45 a.m. Even the patients and relatives came to the hospital early in the morning, but the doctors did not reach the hospital in time.
On further inspection, Iyer noticed that there was a huge lack of cleanliness, after which he called the director of the hospital, Dr Kiran Sachan, and apprised him about the disturbing situation.
