Guwahati News Desk: An adult leopard fell down in a well at Madhab Nagar on the fringe of Garbhanga Reserve Forest on the outskirts of Guwahati City has been rescued by forest personnel on Thursday.
The leopard fell into a 20-feet open well in the wee hours got trapped inside and desperately tried to keep afloat.
Soon after the incident, the villagers started listening to the roars echoing from deep within an open well.
The villagers immediately reached near the open well keeping fear aside and saw a leopard who was struggling to stay afloat in the waist-deep water trying to survive from the danger zone.
The villagers the informed the forest department who rushed on the spot and successfully rescued the leopard after several hours of struggle.
The forest officials wrapped the leopard at the time of rescuing and was carried into the deep forest and released back into the wild.
