Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has issued a notification of withdrawing the earlier orders of incoming passengers who won’t have to undergo mandatory screening on arrival at airports and railway stations after receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
The new notification released that all the incoming passengers arriving at Guwahati International Airport and railway stations mandatory need to undergo the COVID-19 screening test even after receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
According to the report, the decision was taken as many people have been infected with the COVID-19 virus even after inoculated both doses of vaccines.
The earlier notification was withdrawn with immediate effect on Friday as mandatory testing was ordered during the arrival of passengers in Assam.
The COVID-19 cases were seen a sudden hike as Kamrup Metro listed top in the list in Assam with 263 positive cases reported on Thursday.
Rising cases in Kamrup Metro has created a panic situation. The inter-district route was still disconnected and banned by the administration to control the rising spike of cases.
From July 9 COVID-19 cases have reached a sudden hike in Metro with 247 COVID-19 cases and only July 10 it reported 228 cases. Later on Sunday, Kamrup Metro cases were seen low with 150 cases but from Monday, it took the road to hike.
