Guwahati News Desk: A shocking incident took place at Saraighat bridge in Jalukbari after a youth was arrested by Guwahati Police while trying to dispose of a dead body in the Brahmaputra river on Wednesday night.
The dead body was packed in a trunk but due to continuous patrolling during the curfew time, Police officials noticed a group of people trying to dump something into the river.
The arrestee has been identified as Mohan Giri of Amingaon and recovered the scooter he was riding bearing registration number AS 01 DS 5822.
However, the group of people managed to flee away from the spot with the vehicle.
Mohan confessed that the dead body was brought from Pandu 6 No. colony and he was asked paid for doing this work by few youths.
Police officials have immediately started their investigation to find out the depth of the story.
