The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has issued an order to Mizoram government on Friday that the State could face a huge crisis of fuel in the coming days as all the essential vehicles including fuel tanks were stopped at the NH306 over border disputes between both the States.

People of Assam has started economic blockade in the multiple roads sharing borders with Mizoram by holding a demand to hand over those Mizoram Police officers who has killed six Assam Police personnel in border dispute on July 25.

The Mizoram government has immediately released an order for the fuel stations which are instructed not to issue petrol and diesel beyond the permitted quantities and only those vehicles that go to filling stations will be issued oil.

As per new order released by the government that heavy motor vehicles such as six, eight and twelve wheelers can refuel of 50 litres and 20 litres for medium motor vehicles like pick-up trucks. Three litres oil is allowed for scooter, five litres for two wheelers and 10 litres for car.

A sufficient amount of fuel to be made available for the trucks carrying rice bags, oil and LPG which will be sufficient enough for round trip.

Purchasing fuel in containers and gallon barrels at fuel stations has been strictly prohibited by the government.

On the other hand, the filling station will have to submit active stock position to the Legal Metrology Department every day to keep a record of fuel stock in the State. All the filling stations will be kept open from 6 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday.
