Guwahati News Desk: The Mizoram Police has filed a case against the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma including other officials on charges to attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy in the ongoing clash in the Assam-Mizoram border clash.
The case was registered at Vairengte Police Station at Kolasib district of Mizoram situated near Cachar district of Assam. The case was filed under several sections of the Indian Penal Code which includes an attempt to murder.
In the registered case Inspector General of Assam, Deputy Inspector General, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Superintendent of Police including other police personnel. The officers have been asked to appear at Vairengte Police Station today.
During the ongoing clash, the Central Reserve Police Force was deployed between the police forces of both the States to control the tense situation.
In the recent development, as per sources, the Mizoram has captured three houses as owners were removed at Sutbhubirband of Ratatbari in Karimganj district near Assam-Mizoram border on Friday.
During the recent clash on Monday, six Assam Police personnel were killed by Mizoram Police using Light Machine Gun and more than 67 civilians of Assam were reportedly injured by the attack of Mizo on the border.
The government of Assam on Thursday has issued a notification and urged its people not to travel to Mizoram due to a recent border clash as the people of Assam are not safe there anymore. A case was registered against the Mizoram Police after the killing six Assam Police based on the video footage available with Assam Police as many public of Mizoram were seen heavily armed with automatic weapons.
After the recent clash and tension among both the States in the disputed area the Mizo Civil Society, students, and youth organisations are constantly issuing provocative statements against Assam and its native people.
