Guwahati News Desk: In a horrific firing incident that took place in a busy street in Philadelphia, two gunmen were seen firing more than 65 rounds on a busy block teeming with markets, restaurants and numerous pedestrians on Thursday.
According to sources, the police immediately reached the spot on receiving the news about the chaotic incident.
On reaching the incident spot, the police discovered a 21-year-old woman lying down, after being shot multiple times in the abdomen and chest.
The officers immediately rushed her to the hospital, where she was announced to be in a critical condition on Friday.
According to police, five men between the age group of 19 to 29 were also injured in the incident. However, they were taken by private vehicles to two hospitals.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said, “The fact that we found over 65 spent shell casings, that’s a whole lot of shots fired, so it’s hard to even say who is the intended target and who is struck by stray gunfire.”
Moreover, it is being assumed that the injured woman, who suffered the most gunshot wounds, may have been the intended target.
However, officers are still checking all the surveillance footages to know more details about the terrifying incident.
