National Press Day: Assam CM applauds media’s role in Covid19 period

Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal participated as a chief guest in the state-level function of National Press Day 2020, organized by the Directorate of Information and Public Relation on the occasion of National Press Day held at Shri Shri Madhabdev Auditorium at Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra in Panjabari, Guwahati today.

Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Tezpur University, Professor Joya Chakraborty was a keynote speaker in the event addressing the National Press Day.

On the occasion of National Press Day, CM tweeted, “Heartiest greetings to my friends from the media fraternity on National Press Day. I salute your undaunted role in this testing period of COVID-19 and believe that you will come to be conscience keepers of the society.”

In the event, CM, Media Advisor to the CM and HoD, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tezpur University, Prof. Joya Chakraborty light the ceremonial lamp marking the inauguration of the National Press Day event.
