Guwahati News Desk: A shocking video went viral on social media where a few girls from the northeastern region were seen sexually harassed by a group of men at the Hauz Khas area in Delhi on Tuesday.
According to the sources, a girl from the group recorded a video of the incident which later went viral on social media.
In the video, a middle-aged man in a black t-shirt was found asking ‘rate kya hai’ in the Hindi language (what’s your rate) to a group of women by assuming them to be sex workers.
According to the girls, a group of men stopped the girls and asked them their rate of sexual activities in the Hauz Khas area. In the viral video, the girls were seen confronting the men and also heard the man apologizing for their actions.
For the viral video, several students organisation from Gauhati University, Bhattadev University along with Northeast Students Union Vadodara (Gujarat) demanded strict actions against the group of men for misbehaving and teasing the girls.
The incident which took place on Tuesday and gained attention in Delhi as the group of men shouting at the girls and repeatedly asking northeast girls “what’s your rate”.
The student’s bodies appealed to the administration to take immediate actions against the group with immediate effect based on the viral video where NE girls were openly harassed at the Hauz Khas area.
