Guwahati News Desk: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced Vistadome Tourist trains in Assam and West Bengal to boost the tourism sector from Saturday.
In Assam, the Vistadome Tourist train will run between Guwahati to New Haflong and in West Bengal, it will cover from New Jalpaiguri to Alipurduar.
The Northeast Frontier Railway has tweeted, “To boost the tourism and promote the cultural heritage, NFR to run Vista dome Tourist trains between Guwahati-New Haflong & New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar Jn. Shri Anshul Gupta, GM NFR @RailMinIndia briefed the media about the unique features of the coaches at Guwahati station today.”
The Vistadome train coaches are equipped with State of art glass windows and with all-glass roofs to give a 360-degree view of the open sky, mountains, tunnels, bridges, hills, and greenery forest to the tourist.
The seats are provided rotationally which will provide more comfort to the passengers and coaches are enable with digital entertainment systems with Wi-Fi system which will help the tourist passengers to connect with digital infotainment like music videos, movies, etc.
The CCTV has been installed across the train and it also enables with Fire Alarm System with the latest technology to attract passengers.
In Assam, the special Vistadome train will run between Guwahati to Halflong every Wednesday and Saturday which will cover a distance of 269 km. The train will depart from Guwahati at 6.35 am and will reach New Haflong at 11.55 am and will returns at 5 pm from New Haflong on the same day and will reach Guwahati by 10.45 pm.
The Vistadome train will make a stoppage in two stations at Manderdia and Maibong.
