Guwahati News Desk: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced on Friday to operate a short-distance parcel train. The special parcel trains will run between the jurisdictions of NF Railway depending on demand.
The special parcel train is to run once a week between Katihar to Jorhat Town. The train will have a stoppage at Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Dhupguri, Falakata, New Coochbehar, Gosaigaon Hat, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, Barpeta Road, Nalbari, Rangiya, and Guwahati City. The other stoppages will be at Jagiroad, Chaparmukh, Hojai, Lanka, Lumding, Dimapur, Furketing, and Mariani.
According to the report, another Special Parcel train will run daily between Lumding to Silchar and Agartala and vice versa with stoppages at Lumding, New Haflong, Badarpur, Silchar, New Karimganj, Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, Ambasa, and Jirania.
The train will be provided to transport commodities as the traders and manufacturers from North Bihar and North Bengal will be able to send their local products towards Upper Assam, Agartala, Dimapur, and Barak Valley and similarly traders from Upper Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, and Barak Valley will able to transport their commodities to North Bihar and North Bengal areas.
