Guwahati News Desk: The Indian Railways have decided not to allow its passengers to use charging points in train coaches at night hours between 11 pm to 5 am to prevent fire accidents.
The tough decision was taken after Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express caught fire on March 13 which spread to seven other coaches later.
A similar case took place in Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani which caught fire due to short-circuit.
Few fire cases inside the train took place due to smoking which has been completely restricted, if anyone is found doing so will be punished under Section 167 of the Railways Act and a fine up to Rs 100.
To avoid firing incidents, the Railways have decided to restrict passengers using changing points at night and also crack down smokers in train.
