Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has directed all the district administrations and allowed people not more than 500 to attend the Independence Day programme across the State.
The directions were made looking at the current COVID-19 situation in Assam and the General Administration Department has instructed all the Deputy Commissioners (DC) and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to allow people not more than 500 people during the flag hoisting programme and also instructed to ensure all the COVID-19 protocol during the celebration.
According to the sources, the Ministers have been assigned their scheduled district for flag hoisting on Independence Day by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Here is the list of Ministers assigned districts to attend the Independence Day programme:
1) Ranjeet Kumar Dass in Barpeta.
2) Parimal Suklabaidya in Cachar.
3) Ajanta Neog in Golaghat.
4) Chandra Mohan Patowary in Darrang.
5) Atul Bora in Sivasagar.
6) Keshab Mahanta in Nagaon.
7) Dr Ranoj Pegu in Jorhat.
8) Joegn Mohan in Tinsukia.
9) Ashok Singhal in Sonitpur.
10) Bimal Bora in Dibrugarh.
11) UG Brahma in Chirang.
12) Sanjay Kishan in Lakhimpur.
13) Pijush Hazarika in Nalbari.
The Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the official Independence Day programme in Guwahati.
On the other hand, Minister Atul Bora was scheduled in the Sivasagar district but earlier he was tested for COVID-19 so his presence in the Independence Day programme is uncertain.
