Guwahati News Desk: Oil India Limited (OIL) has conducted the first-ever Airborne Gravity Gradiometry & Gravity-Magnetic (AGG & GM) survey in Dibrugarh on Thursday.
The milestone survey was flag-off in presence of CMD, Oil A C Mishra, Director, Biswajit Roy and RCE, OIL D K Das on 29 November 2020.
Earlier, Director Dr. P Chandrasekaran and Director of Operation PK Goswami have visited the aircraft and had a discussion with Bellgeo and the OIL team on 21st November 2020.
A total of 21,000 LKM over an area of 9000 km will be covered under the project of AGG & GM survey.
The survey measures the spatial rate of change of gravitational acceleration which measures five independent components of the gravity field and provides a high-resolution image of various constituents of density contrast.
