Guwahati News Desk: In an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists, including one involved in the Pulwama attack, were killed on Saturday.
The security forces on Saturday morning, launched a cordon and search operation in the forest area of Namibian and Marsar and in the general area of Dachigam, after getting inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
The search operation was then turned into an encounter after the terrorists began to open fire at a search party of the forces.
According to the details, the gunfight between the terrorists and security forces began at Nagberan-Tarsar forest area of Pulwama.
One among the two terrorists was Mohammad Ismal Alvi alias Lamboo alias Adnan, who was from JeM leader Masood Azhar’s family, and was also involved in the conspiracy and planning of the 2019 Lethpora Pulwama attack.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar stated, “Topmost Pakistani terrorist affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lamboo, killed in today’s encounter.”
The IGP Vijay Kumar added, “Second killed terrorist has been identified as Sameer Dar of Pulwama. He was also involved in Lethpora Terror Attack and figured in NIA’s charge sheet. Out of 19 accused, 8 terrorists have been killed so far.”
Furthermore, the IGP congratulated the army and police for the success.
