Pakistan defeats Afghanistan by 5 wickets, WI wins over Bangladesh: T20 World Cup

Guwahati News Desk: In Friday’s T20 World Cup match between West Indies and Bangladesh, team West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 3 runs.

The match took place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Chasing a target of 143, Bangladesh were restricted to 139/5 from their share of 20 overs.

Mahmudullah and Liton Das were involved in a wonderful partnership, where Litton Das top-scored for Bangladesh with a 43-ball 44, while skipper Mahmudullah also contributed with an unbeaten 33.

Moreover, the changes that took place amidst the match included of Bangladesh changing Soumya Sarkar for Nurul Hasan and Nasum Ahmed making way for Taskin Ahmed.

The players of team Bangladesh included of Mohammad Naim, Liton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah (c), Afif Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman.

The players of team West Indies included of Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Kieron Pollard (c), Nicholas Pooran (wk), Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein and Ravi Rampaul.

Furthermore, it was Nicholas Pooran, who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.

Eventually, the final score of the match between West Indies and Bangladesh mounted up to West Indies’s being 142/7 (20) and Bangladesh’s being 139/5 (20).

Regarding the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets and achieved their third straight win.

The match was held at the Dubai International Stadium.

Chasing the target of 148, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by five wickets in their Group 2 Super 12 match of the ICC T20 World Cup on Friday.

In Friday’s match, Afghanistan opted to bat first, but were reduced to 64-5 in 9.1 overs. However, it was Gulbadin Naib (35 not out) and skipper Mohammad Nabi (35 not out), who shared 71 runs to take Afghanistan to a competitive 147 for 6.

Further scoring 148 for 5 in 19 overs, Afghanistan spin trio of Rashid Khan (2/26), Nabi (1/36) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (1/14) were among wicket-takers. On the other hand, for Pakistan Imad Wasim (2/25), Shaheed Afridi (1/22), Haris Rauf (1/37), Hasan Ali (1/38) and Shadab Khan (1/22) were the wicket-takers.

However, it was Asif Ali who blasted four sixes in the 19th over and handed Pakistan their third win.

The changes that took place amidst the match included of West Indies changing Roston Chase for Lendl Simmons, and Jason Holder replacing Hayden Walsh.

The players of team Pakistan included of Mohammad Rizwan(w), Babar Azam(c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi.

The players of team Afghanistan included of Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Shahzad(w), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi(c), Asghar Afghan, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, Naveen-ul-Haq and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Afghanistan and Pakistan mounted up to Afghanistan’s being 147/6 (20) and Pakistan’s being 148/5 (19) .

Furthermore, it was Asif Ali who was titled as the “Player of the Match.”
