Guwahati News Desk: After experiencing 12 defeats at the World Cups, Pakistan finally achieves victory by defeating India by 10 wickets to get off to a winning start in the T20 World Cup tournament.

The match between India and Pakistan was held at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

On one hand, Pakistan enjoys their first ever 10-wicket victory in a T20 International and on the other hand, India suffers their first-ever 10-wicket defeat in a T20 International.

The match began with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam winning the toss, who then invited India to bat first.

In Sunday’s match, Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s duo started the chase and guided the side to 46/0 after 7 overs. At the halfway mark, they took Pakistan to 71/0. The two then brought up their 100-run stand and Azam smashed 50, as Pakistan reached 101/0 after 13 overs. Eventually, Rizwan also brought up his fifty and remained unbeaten on 79, alongside Babar’s 68 not-out, as Pakistan romped home with 2.1 overs to spare.

After being put in to bat, team India got off to the worst start possible, as openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul departed within three overs.

Eventually, India reached 36/3 after the Powerplay.

In the next four overs, India scored 24 to keep the run-rate up.

Moreover, it was because of Rishabh Pant and Kohli’s partnership that India began their comeback. Kohli hit five boundaries and a six during his knock. In addition, Rishabh Pant also played a good hand as he hit a 30-ball 39, which included two fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Shadab Khan.

Meanwhile for Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi (3/31) was on fire and was the most successful bowler, as he sent back openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, before Hasan Ali removed Suryakumar Yadav to give Pakistan a great start in the match.

The members in team India included of Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah.

The members in team Pakistan included of Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan(w), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi.
