Guwahati News Desk: In the latest SOPs released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has allowed pillion riding across the State after it was banned from the past four months due to increasing cases of COVID-19 in the State.
Earlier, pillion riding was only allowed for women and children. In the new SOPs the pillion riding was allowed only for dual doses and at least single dose vaccinated people. The wearing of a mask was made mandatory for the pillion rider. Meanwhile, non-vaccinated people are not allowed in pillion riding.
On the other hand, talking about inter-district and intra-district passenger’s transport a heavy fine will be imposed for the standing passengers as at least single vaccinated people will be allowed to travel.
The night curfew was extended from 7 pm to 9 pm which was to continue till 5 am the next day across the State. The entire public and private establishment will function as per usual working hours but not beyond 8 pm.
All the business, commercial establishments, dine in restaurants, hotels, resorts, dhabas including other catering, take away of food items from restaurants, dhabas, and other eateries, the opening of sale counters, showrooms, etc of cold storages and warehouses, shops dealing with meat, groceries, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and milk booths to remain open till 8 pm across the State.
Inter-district and Intra-district passengers transport with 100 per cent seating capacity shall be allowed for passengers having at least a single dose of vaccine. No standing of passengers will be allowed as a heavy fine to be imposed for the standing passengers and the license of the driver and registration of the vehicles carrying standing passengers will be cancelled.
The physical classes for the postgraduate, graduate, higher secondary final year, GNM/Nursing courses and that of the technical institution shall be allowed for students having at least a single COVID-19 dose vaccine. Before the state of physical classes, there will be a three-day vaccination drive for students, faculty, and staff.
The hostels of the educational institutions are allowed to open only for the postgraduate, graduate, and higher secondary final year students with fully vaccinated residents.
Meeting or gathering at any open or close spaces is allowed up to 50 single-dose vaccinated persons with prior intimation to local police. However, with the prior permission of jurisdictional DC for maximum gathering up to 200 persons at least single vaccinated many be allowed both for public and private functions which will also be applicable for the closed subject to ceiling 50 per cent of the hall capacity.
Public gathering is allowed up to 50 single vaccinated persons for marriage, funeral or last rites. The religious places are allowed to open with up to 40 single vaccinated persons per hour for iconic places and 50 single vaccinated persons per hour for other religious places.
Cinema and theatre halls shall continue to remain closed till the next review.
