Guwahati News Desk: President of India Ram Nath Kovind has arrived at Guwahati City on Friday.
During his three-day visit to Assam, President Kovind was warmly welcomed by Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi, Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Bharatiya Janata Party President Ranjit Kumar Das at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Borjhar.
Directly from the airport President Kovind made its way towards the Kamakhya Temple. Later in the evening President will headed towards to lay the foundation stone of redevelopment of legendary Ahom general Lachit Borphukan’s Memorial to mark the 400th birth anniversary.
National flag have been installed across the city along with the white, yellow and green flags.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Touched by Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji’s gesture as he stepped out of his vehicle to acknowledge the warm & colourful reception at the airport. The President was given a glimpse of Assam’s vibrant tradition as cultural troupes performed along the airport road.”
