Guwahati News Desk: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi holds an immediate telephonic conversation with his counterpart Russian President Vladimir Putin over the safety of the Indian citizen specially the students studying in Ukraine ahead of war tense between both the nations on Thursday.
President Putin briefed PM Modi about the recent developments regarding Ukraine. Modi reiterated his long-standing conviction that the differences between Russia and the NATO group can also be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue.
PM Modi also appealed for an immediate cessation of war violence and called for concerted efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations.
PM Modi has also sensitised the Russian government about India’s concerns regarding the safety of the Indian citizens in Ukraine and attaches the highest priority of their safe exit and return back to India.
Thd leaders agreed that their officials and diplomatic teams would continue to maintain regular contacts on issues of topical interest.
