Guwahati News Desk: A 10-day old carcass of an adult Royal Bengal tiger was reported to be found dead near Laudubi APC under Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the sex of the tiger is still not identified as due to active decay of the cat no concrete conclusion of the cause of death can be opined.
Reportedly, it is the fourth big cat found dead there in the past five months.
The announcement was made by the District Forest Officer (DFO) of EAWL Division of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR).
The forest experts have collected the samples of the intestine and skin for DNA and toxicological study.
The forest officials said the probable cause of death could be natural as suspected to be infighting.
