Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has included sanitary pads in the list of relief materials to be distributed among the women and adolescent girls.
It will be distributed in the areas affected by floods and other natural disasters.
The notification was issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Commissioner and Secretary M S Manivannan.
The decision was taken after drawing the attention of all the district deputy commissioners and sub-divisional officers as it was noticed that women face a huge problem during emergencies while living in the flood-affected area as it will help women and adolescents girls to take care of menstrual hygiene needs during the flood.
