Guwahati News Desk: Shahil Dey from Assam clinched the International Chess Master Title on Saturday.
14-year-old becomes the first-ever chess International Master from the Northeast region.
His achievement for the nation has been promoted by the government of India initiative MyGov. It quotes, “Even at such a young age, he has represented India at various competitions and was awarded the National Child Award for his achievements in chess.”
Prasar Bharati News Services tweeted, “14-year-old Shahil Dey from Assam bags the International Chess Master title, he is the first-ever to achieve this title from the Northeast region.”
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted and congratulated Dey and wrote, “Assam is proud of you, Shahil. Many congratulations! My best wishes for all your future endeavours.”
