Guwahati News Desk: Multiple checking points set up by Guwahati Traffic Police below the Ulubari flyover as odd-even ply of vehicles implemented across Guwahati city with immediate effect.
Movement of vehicles bearing even numbers were stopped by GTC and challans were registered against the violators.
Other than Ulubari area checkings were seen in many places like Panbazar, Ganeshguri, Lalganesh etc.
The Kamrup Metro District Administration (KMDA) has issued a notification for the restriction of movement of private and personal vehicles with immediate effect from today at 5 am to 2 pm in Guwahati.
Vehicles with an odd number will be allowed to ply on the odd dates i.e. vehicle numbers ending with 1,3,5,7 and 9 on May 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23 and 25 etc.
And vehicles with even numbers will be allowed to ply on the even dates i.e. vehicle numbers ending with 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 on May 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 etc of 2021.
The restriction will not apply to Government vehicles, water tankers, milk carry vans, ambulances, LPG distributors van, hired and private vehicles used for medical duty, COVID-19 duty carrying valid ID proof and personal vehicle for medical emergencies.
The restrictions will not be applicable for the vehicles moving in the National Highways.
