Sangita Dewri, Food Correspondent: Winter has arrived and pickle is prepared in every household. I tried making pickle many times, but, never came out well, until one of my relatives came with this amazing pickle recipe. I never thought that making pickle will be so easy. The Indian olive is very sour, so, I made it a little sweet.
INGREDIENTS
- Olives – 500gms
- Oil – 300ml
- Dry red chilli – 2nos
- Red chilli powder – 4tsp
- Jeera powder – 4tsp
- Salt – 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 3tsp
- Jaggery – 250gms
PROCESS
Boil the olives with water for 2mins. After that make cuts in the olives and add salt and turmeric powder. Put it in sunlight for a day. Heat the oil then add the red chillies and then add olives. After frying for 10 seconds add jeera powder and red chilli powder. Add the jaggery and wait for it to melt. Keep stirring for 10 mins.
And the sweet and sour olive pickle is ready.
