Guwahati News Desk: President of Syria Bashar al-Assad and First Lady Asma al-Assad has tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Monday.
The President and his wife took the PCR test after experiencing some symptoms and the result came positive even though they are in good and stable health.
While continuing to carry out their work, the couple will be quarantining between two to three weeks.
According to the Health Ministry, the country has so far reported 15,981 coronavirus cases, with 10,374 recoveries and 1,063 deaths.
