Guwahati News Desk: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has introduced ‘transgender’ option in the gender category. According to the officials on Friday, around 42 applications were received in this category for State civil and allied services examinations.
The administration has issued a notice to include transgender option in the gender category on September 15. The APSC is probably the first state commission to do so. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already included the option in its recruitment process.
All total 83,251 applicants have submitted their forms.
