Guwahati News Desk: The television star Kamya Punjabi joined the Congress party on Wednesday.
She was inducted into the party in the presence of the Mumbai Congress president Bhai Jagtap.
As per the sources, the actor joined the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee in Mumbai at around 2 pm on Wednesday.
In addition, the political analyst and party leader Tehseen Poonawalla, along with other members of the Congress, were also present at the event.
Congratulating the newly inducted member, Poonawalla wrote a post on Twitter, that read, “Best wishes to Kamya Punjabi as she joins the INC Mumbai family today. Inspired by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ji and under the leadership of Sonia Gandhiji and Rahul Gandhi ji, I know Kamya will serve the citizens. She is fortunate to have Bhai Jagtap as her president.”
Moreover, it was the Congress member, Aditya Goswami, who had earlier confirmed on his Twitter account that Kamya Punjabi would be joining the gran old party. His post read, “Renowned television Actress and former Bigg Boss contestant @iamkamyapunjabi will be joining Congress. She has been very vocal about social issues and is actively supporting Shri Rahul Gandhi and Smt. Priyanka Gandhi.”
Regarding, the actor Kamya Punjabi, she has acted in several television serials and had also participated in the reality show Big Boss.
Moreover, she recently wrapped the shooting for her next television show, “Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki,” where her fans will be able to see her in a new role.
