Guwahati News Desk: Two Bangladesh nationals were apprehended by the police from a Guwahati-bound passenger bus in Assam’s Karimganj district along the Assam-Tripura border on Saturday night.

According to Karimganj district police, the duo entered India from Tripura’s Agartala-Akahura side without valid documents.

The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Masum Billah and Sheikh Bappi. They hail from Bangladesh’s Gopalganj area.

A police official said that during regular checking at Churaibari border outpost, the police caught the Bangladesh nationals from a passenger bus bearing registration number AS-01HC-6269 which was going towards Guwahati from Agartala.

“During interrogation, they revealed that they entered India from Agartala side without valid documents. Their next destination was West Bengal,” the police official said

The police have recovered Bangladeshi mobile SIM cards, educational certificates and other items in possession from them.

Earlier on October 30, the police apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals at the same area from a passenger bus who were also coming from Agartala.
