Guwahati News Desk: Two male elephants were recovered and rescued by Tinsukia police at Makum on Monday.

According to the sources, the elephants were carried illegally in a Punjab truck bearing registration number BR 01 GH 0435 as they were taken from the Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh to Odisha.

During the investigation, police officials did not receive any documents regarding the elephant as the truck was seized by the officials and an FIR has also been registered for the illegal activity.
