Guwahati News Desk: On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated the precious day with sisters of different organisations in Guwahati City on Sunday.
CM Sarma stated that he was deeply moved by the warm gesture carried out by women of different organisations as Rakshabandhan is one of the most popular Indian festivals which was celebrated annually to commemorate the special bonds between the siblings.
Traditionally on this special occasion of siblings, sisters tie rakhis on their brother’s wrist and exchange gifts with a promise of staying together forever and support to each other.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Deeply moved by the warm gesture of my beloved sisters belonging to different organisations, who tied Rakhi to me. On the auspicious occasion of #Rakshabandhan, which celebrates the eternal bond between brothers and sisters, I extended my heartfelt greetings to everyone.”
