Guwahati News Desk: A panic situation prevails in Tihu after two COVID-19 positive prisoners fled from the hospital on Saturday night.
According to the sources, 14 prisoners from Nalbari jail were admitted to Makhibaha Mahatma Gandhi Adarsh Hospital in Tihu after tested positive for COVID-19 but two of the prisoners somehow managed to flee from the hospital which creates a panic situation in Makhibaha and including nearby areas.
The two prisoners have been identified as Sahil Ahmed and Rajib Sharma. The locals of Makhibaha and nearby hospitals are now in a serious health threat as whole Makhibaha might get infected with COVID-19 unknowingly.
Soon after the incident, police officials have started a search operations against the two prisoners and also informed the local residents about the incident and urged them to stay aware.
While speaking to a local resident of Tihu said, “The police department should immediately circulate the photos of the two COVID-19 positive prisoners who fled away from the hospital in Makhibaha including the nearby areas which will enable the residence to become more aware so that they can immediately inform to police after getting any information.”
