Guwahati News Desk: A proud moment for Assam has been shining above the Himalayas after nine mountaineers from the State has successfully climbed the Peak of Jogin III Mountain of the Garhwal Himalaya on Thursday.
The nine members started their peak journey of Jogin III at 8.30 am under the leadership of Manash Barooah. The government of Assam has held big support to the team by sponsoring the mountaineering expedition.
The Jogin III Mountain has been located in the Garhwal Himalaya in Uttarakhand having a height of 20,066 ft as it is the 155th highest located entirely within the Uttrakhand.
The mountaineers who successfully set their name above the peak are Manash Barooah, Upen Chakraborty, Bhaskar Baruah, Jayanta Nath, Shekhar Bordoli, Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika, Kaushik Das, Krishna Basumatary, Rubi Borah.
