Guwahati News Desk: Yuvraj Singh Foundation run by former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh to set up 100 bedded paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh district in Assam.
For setting up 100 bedded ICU a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Yuvraj Singh Foundation and the Assam Medical College and Hospital on Friday. The ICU’s to set up in the hospital to boost critical care and to treat patients at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the sources, the Principal cum Chief Superintendent of Assam Medical College and Hospital Sanjeeb Kakati said, “Yuvraj Singh Foundation basically deals with children’s cancer but after COVID the foundation has taken initiative to install and donate 100 bedded ICU across the country for children. In AMCH they will provide 50 beds in the first installment and another 50 will be provided by the foundation.”
Among the 100 ICU, 20 will be the full-fledged ventilator beds, and the rest 80 Oxygen generated beds will be set up at the children’s ward of AMCH. The ICU to help out to treat children during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Yuvraj Singh Foundation works specifically in the healthcare sector in the issue related to the cancer of children.
